Greetings from your alma mater!
Since its inception in 1960 as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC) and conversion into National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) in 2002 by an Act of the Parliament, the Institute has come a long way. As an 'Institute of National Importance', it has achieved significant growth in terms of education, research, outreach and impact. It has now embarked on a journey of 'good to great' with the goal of achieving global excellence coupled with local relevance.
We cherish the progress of our alumni who have excelled in a wide range of fields, brought laurels for themselves and their organisations, and created significant impact in India as well as overseas. They are invited to return to the Institute, reconnect with their teachers and friends, re-live their hostel days, and redefine their relationship with the alma mater. Suggestions and support for various initiatives to accelerate the journey of the Institute are most welcome.
We look forward to hearing from you
